What are some important skills to develop for success in the workplace?

Lets begin with Discipline. number 1 skill that is mandatorily required in life.

List goes like this

  1. Discipline - Everything we do in life to make it better will require discipline. Career & Business demands more and better level.
  2. Consistency - Second most important pillar of life. Both career & business will require consistency & discipline together to achieve something.
  3. Attitude - It is very important that you cultivate learning attitude. Learn from janitor to manager to CEO. Every organization & management wish to hire a candidate with learning attitude.
  4. Talk less & Listen more - Whether it is organization politics or business drama or personal life crisis, everyone around is constantly feeding information and provoking at times. It is important to keep calm and talk less. Dont promise anything, dont commit to something unknown, dont try to sell yourself too hard and million more things. Listen and decide if you need to reply or just say “you are right”
  5. Be realistic - I have a belief that “realist will walk the earth longer than Optimist & Pessimist” Reason for that is Realist will plan for both optimistic & extreme worst case scenario. Try to be a realist in life, trust your eyes more than your ears. Make sense of what’s in front of you, consider worst case scenario then plan & prepare yourself.
  6. Communication - Be a fantastic communicator by reading books, listening to talk shows, watching videos, practicing at home. Great communicator will climb the food chain faster than a talented fool who over believes his abilities.
